Booking & Camping Procedures
DISTRICTS: may book from the
1st
Friday of October on, for weekend events and camps.
UNITS: may book from the 2nd Friday of October on, for weekend events and camps.
OUT OF AREA: groups outside of Lougheed Area may
book on November 1st.
NON-GUIDING GROUPS: may
book on January 2nd for non-Guiding time during the summer (July 1 - Sep 15) and
during the week.

Each District and Unit may only initially book one camp/event
prior November 1st. Additional camp/events may be booked on or after
November 1st.

For all campsite bookings the booking fees and deposits must be paid
within two weeks of a booking. Minimum camp fees must be paid four
weeks in advance of the event. Final camp fees must be paid one week
after camp. Groups will be responsible for any long distance phone charges.
Camp Kanaka is to be rented as a non-alcoholic facility. All
buildings at Camp Kanaka are designated non-smoking buildings, including the
Macy on the Naka Naka Naka site. Smokers are to smoke in the
designated areas provided.
- Vehicles must only park in designated areas assigned to each particular
site; cars must not park on fire access routes or grass fields.
Motorhomes are not permitted on site.

Groups staying at Camp Kanaka sites must send a representative per site
booked to attend a pre-camp site orientation. The representative must
be in attendance for the duration of the camp and must be checked in and out
by the Caretaker or his designate. Upon check-in groups must provide
the Caretaker with a participant list. Site will be inspected by Campsite
liaison delegate, usually the caretaker or other maintenance staff, and
approval must be given to release damage/cleaning deposit.

Camp Kanaka is to be rented as a
no pet's facility, Working animals trained specifically to assist the
blind, deaf or physically disabled are permitted.
