“It Only Takes One”
We all know how
important Girl Guides is for a young girls life. As each year goes by, we see
another girl blossom. As each year goes by, we watch another girl teach her
followers
how to make scrambled eggs in a baggie. As each year goes by, we listen to a
young lady as she speaks of her International travel this past summer. Girl
Guides is turning our younger generation into better citizens of tomorrow. We
all want Girl Guides to be a part of every girls life, so let’s try to make sure
every girl knows what is out there, in the big world, for her.
The Membership
committee challenges each unit, to increase their enrollment by only one girl.
By sustaining your enrollment, plus adding one girl to each year’s membership,
we will pursue being Canada’s largest organization for women. It only takes
one, for us to increase our membership by 40% in 2010. Lougheed Area is
currently the largest area in British Columbia. Our amazing leaders are
continuing to dedicate tremendous time and talent to their units, making these
girls want to come back year after year. Thank you, from the girls whom you
lead, parents whom you enlighten, and Guiders whom you bond. 
It only takes
one. So, let’s put on our thinking caps and get creative. There are numerous
ways we can increase membership. Watch for new ways at your district meetings
and on our website, and don’t hesitate to contact your membership team.
