” Growing up, I was integrated into the Girl Guide community, and I am very committed to the ideals and goals of their mission statement. These include: being honest and trustworthy, using my resources wisely, respecting myself and others, recognizing my talents and abilities, protecting our environment, living with courage and strength, and sharing in the sisterhood of guiding. I genuinely care about my fellow students and citizens, but more than that, I actively volunteer in both the school and the community to put that compassion into concrete action. One example of this is my winning the Canada Cord award from Girl Guides, showing how I put these ideals out into the world. These characteristics illustrate who I am and my commitment to make the world around me better.”
